Valentine Day Celebration
About 40 community members including adults and children came out to participate in the Valentines Day Celebration at Hacienda Peralta Historic Park.
Lead by ACE Arts interns Liliana Herrera and Priscilla Hoang, and volunteers Kristi Holohan and Dawn Duboski we made DIY cards, and silk screened our hearts to Oakland. Community also had an opportunity to write a "love letter to Oakland" stating what they love about the neighborhood as well as what they want to see changed.
We found out where the speed bumps are needed, where the potholes are, that we need to change the fighting and violence. We also learned where to go to hang out in the Peralta Creek and last but not least where to get the best tamales!
